Deliciously tender chicken cooked in a sweet and savory honey garlic sauce, made effortlessly in the slow cooker.
Ingredients:
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1/3 cup honey
- 1/2 cup low sodium soy sauce
- 1/4 cup ketchup
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon dried basil
- 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch
- 3 tablespoons cold water
- Sesame seeds, for garnish
- Sliced green onions, for garnish
Instructions:
Put chicken breasts in the crock pot
Honey, soy sauce, ketchup, garlic, basil, oregano, and red pepper flakes should all be mixed together in a bowl
Put on chicken
Put the lid on top and cook on low for four to five hours or high for two to three hours, or until the chicken is fully cooked
Take the chicken out of the slow cooker and use two forks to shred it
Put cold water and cornstarch in a small bowl and stir them together until the mixture is smooth
Add this to the slow cooker sauce
Put the chicken back into the slow cooker and stir it around to coat it with the sauce
Put the lid on top and cook on high for another 30 minutes, until the sauce gets thicker
Put it on top of cooked rice or noodles and top with green onions and sesame seeds
