These Spiderweb Cupcakes are a spooky and delicious treat perfect for Halloween parties or any time you want a fun and creepy dessert. The dark gray cupcakes are topped with a chocolate glaze and intricate spiderweb designs, complete with white chocolate spider decorations.

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup whole milk
  • Black food coloring gel
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tbsp cocoa powder
  • 2 tbsp water
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup white chocolate chips

Instructions:

Warm up your oven to 350F 175C and put cupcake liners in a muffin tin

Mix the flour, baking powder, and salt together in a bowl with a whisk

Melt the butter and mix it with the sugar in another bowl until the mixture is light and fluffy

One at a time, add the eggs and beat well after each one

Then, add the vanilla extract and mix it in

Slowly add the dry ingredients, mixing in between adding the milk

Start with the dry ingredients and end with the milk

It will turn a dark gray color after you add a few drops of black food coloring gel and mix it in

The batter should be about two thirds of the way up each cupcake liner

After the oven is hot, bake the cupcakes for 18 to 20 minutes, or until a toothpick stuck in the middle comes out clean

On a wire rack, let the cupcakes cool all the way down

Take a small bowl and mix the powdered sugar, cocoa powder, water, and vanilla extract with a whisk

This will make a thick glaze

After the cupcakes have cooled, put the glaze on top of them

Start in the middle of the cupcake and draw lines outward toward the edges with a toothpick to make a spiderweb pattern

On a piece of parchment paper, melt the white chocolate chips and use them to make spider webs

Before putting the chocolate spiders on top of the spiderwebs on the cupcakes, make sure they are completely hard

After the chocolate sets, your spiderweb cupcakes are ready to eat
